Choosing Your Photographer With Confidence

Choosing a wedding photographer is easily one of the very most important decisions to make when planning your wedding. Your photos will capture the memories of your special day for years to come. We know this can be super overwhelming, but here are a few tips that we would love for every bride to know to help them feel more confident when choosing their photographer.

  1. Check Their Photos:

    • Look at the photographer's portfolio to get a sense of their style. Everyone has a unique style, and we want to make sure that we are the right fit for you! Our style is what we call “True To Color”, so the colors you have spent so long selecting for your wedding will turn out to be the exact same hue in your photos - Nothing will be washed out, overly dark, or have a brown tint to it.

  2. Meet in Person, if possible:

    • Schedule a meeting with your photographer! Remember, this is the human who will be following you around every single step on one of the most important days of your life. You need to connect with them on an individual level and make sure your personalities click!

  3. Check for Professionalism:

    • Assess the photographer's professionalism, including their punctuality, responsiveness to your inquiries, and their ability to provide clear and detailed contracts. Unfortunately, it’s so easy to make a “fancy” website these days - when that doesn’t always translate over to client experience. At Severine Photography, we put the client experience first. We want to make sure you feel special and valued. In fact - we limit the amount of weddings we take each month to make sure all of our couples have our full attention.

  4. Book in Advance:

    • Once you've found a photographer you trust and feel comfortable with, book them as early as possible to secure your date. We are booking weddings

  5. Ask Questions:

    • During the meeting, ask any questions that come to mind! There are no silly questions, or nothing too small or big. Many brides haven’t gotten married before, but we have done this hundreds of times. While we try to answer all of your questions before you even know you have them - everyone’s needs are different and we want to make sure you feel comfortable.

Remember that confidence in your choice comes from thorough research, open communication, and finding a photographer whose style and personality align with your vision for your wedding day. Taking the time to make this decision will help ensure that you have beautiful memories to cherish for a lifetime.
